Following in the footsteps of Bhaktivinoda Thakura

Recently, Nityananda Asraya Prabhu, a disciple of H.H. Gopal Krsna Goswami, has brought 11 Bhakti Vriksa groups from Delhi, along with their leaders, which consisted of a total of 250 devotees to Sri Mayapur Dhama.

The purpose of their visit was to bring all the Bhakti Vriksa devotees together and to inspire them to carry on spreading Srila Prabhupada`s mission. They visited many holy places in the area including Lord Caitanya`s birthplace, Bhaktivinoda Thakura`s residence, the temples of Navadvipa town, and many more. They also participated in ISKCON Mayapur temple programs as well as the daily Ganga Puja ceremony

Nityananda Asraya Prabhu, with the help of a handful of devotees has been able organize and manage this Mayapur Parikrama quite successfully and practically without any difficulty. From this example we can see that the Lord blesses –with all facilities- he who endeavors to bring others close to Him when we follow the footsteps of His pure devotees.

Bhaktivinoda Thakura, the Acharya of Congregational Preaching stressed very much on congregational expansion. He started the “Nama Hatta”, or the “Market of the Holy Name”, in order to reach people of every town and village and give them the most valuable jewel of Krsna Prema. Following in this line Srila Prabhupada singlehandedly took up the mission of spreading the sankirtan mission throughout the world.

Nityananda Asraya Prabhu is the leader of 50 Bhakti Vriksa groups, and he utilizes material from the Congregational Development Ministry for his preaching service. He has also arranged for translations of many of our books in Hindi

Our minister, H.H. Jayapataka Swami, defines our purpose thus, “The Congregational Development Ministry is trying to develop different strategies to stimulate the preaching work. These preaching methods can be standardized, copied, refined, and perfected.”

The ministry offers consultancy, education and networking to assist ISKCON devotees to develop and expand their communities in accordance to Srila Prabhupada`s principles. We welcome all to find out more about the resources that we offer to assist Srila Prabhupada in his transcendental preaching.
